Gangubai Kathiawadi echoed in the Filmfare Awards ceremony, bagged 7 awards

The year 2023 Filmfare Awards saw the dominance of Alia Bhatt as heroine and Rajkumar Rao as hero. This is the 69th year since the award was started. This award was started in the year 1954. Since then this award ceremony has been held every year. Balraj Sahni’s Do Bigha Zameen was the first film to bag this award in its debut year. Taking a look at the history of 69 years, Gully Boy, directed by Zoya Akhtar and starring Ranveer Singh, is the only film that managed to bag 13 awards under all categories of the Filmfare Awards. On the other hand, in terms of nominations, Aamir Khan’s film Rang De Basanti has been such a film which had succeeded in getting itself nominated in 19 categories of this award. Gulzar, the writer, director, producer and lyricist of the film industry, is the only person who has received this award the maximum number of times, 21 times.

Alia Bhatt received the Best Actress Award for the year 2023 for her film Gangubai Kathiawadi. On the other hand, actor Rajkumar Rao won the Best Actor award for his film Badhaai Do. This time the show was hosted by Salman Khan while Ayushmann Khurrana and Manish Paul worked as co-hosts with him. While Alia Bhatt won the Heroine Award for Gangubai, on the other hand, the director of this film Sanjay Leela Bhansali won the Best Director and Best Film award for this film. Alia Bhatt’s Gaganbai Kathiawadi and Rajkumar Rao’s Badhaai Do dominated this year’s Filmfare Awards. These films have received awards in many categories. Ranbir Kapoor’s film Brahmastra is also not lagging behind. Arijit Singh won the Best Playback Singer Award for the song Kesariya, while director Ayan Mukerji won the Filmfare Award for VFX. Biswadeep Deepak Chatterjee received the award in the Best Sound Design category for the film Brahmastra. The film Gangubai Kathiawadi won a total of 7 awards.
