LNT started the construction work of the stadium

Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ankit Chatterjee told PTI on Tuesday, ‘LNT has taken over the work of Varanasi Cricket Stadium. For the construction of this stadium, an additional payment of Rs 331 crore and GST will be made to LNT. The company will build the stadium in 30 months till December 2025. He told that about 31 acres of land has already been received from the UP government. The work of leveling this land is going on.

The stadium will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities

LNT is currently working on the design of the stadium. After the rains, the construction work of the stadium will start by the end of September. The audience capacity of this stadium will be 30 thousand. This stadium will be built according to international standards. Equipped with all state-of-the-art facilities, this will be the first cricket stadium in Uttar Pradesh, which will be operated by the BCCI (Indian Cricket Board). Under the long-term lease, he will also give a fixed amount to the government every year in lieu of this.

Varanasi Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma was asked some time ago whether hotels etc. facilities are available in Varanasi for international cricket matches? On this, he had told that this stadium would be constructed in Rajatalab area. This area is surrounded by ring road on all sides and the stadium has wide roads for the movement of players and spectators. He told that at present there is one five-star hotel in Varanasi, many more new hotels are opening soon and many hotels are also being expanded.

The stadium will become a center to enhance the skills of young players

This stadium of Kashi will become an excellent center to hone the skills of young players not only from Purvanchal, but also from neighboring Bihar, Madhya Pradesh (MP), Chhattisgarh. It is notable that there was already a proposal for a world-class cricket stadium in Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The problem was of land. The whole process gained momentum from September 2022. Land was purchased from 31 cultivators.
