Haseena Malik has become Gulki Joshi

Gulki Joshi further said, ‘When I started shooting for the show, I saw a lot of difference between Haseena Malik and Gulki Joshi. But after three years of playing the role, it has got mixed up. Haseena has become a part of my personality. Knowingly or unknowingly now whenever I deal with any situation, be it very happy, sad or excited, I feel Haseena has become the voice of my mind. She tells me to calm down, relax, everything will be fine. And I suddenly feel that I was not like this at all. Haseena has changed me and made me who I am and has completed my personality. This is one of the best roles I have played so far.

Gulki Joshi is a fan of Kavita Kausish

Gulki Joshi further said, ‘Personally I have been a fan of Kavita Kaushik and I have grown up watching FIR. Have watched his show since childhood. I had expressed my desire to do a similar character on TV. When I got such a character, that role was full of swag, style, comedy. I think that’s why I adopted the character of Madam Sir in my life.

Gulki Joshi did not trust ‘Maddam Sir’

Gulki Joshi further said, ‘To be honest, until I knew about the show and the character, I was not fully convinced. I thought it was just another cop comedy show and doubted whether people would accept me and the show. Initially I was apprehensive but at that time after the first episode of the show was telecast I felt that this is a different show which has not come before. FIR is a cult show and no one can match it but I also felt that this is going to be the next cult show.’

Gulki Joshi was about to leave the acting industry

Gulki Joshi talks about her unemployment. Said, ‘Just before Madam Sir came, I was about to leave the industry and acting. I had no work for a long time and was getting uninsured. Everyone goes through this phase and at that time people around me had a lot of work. I started feeling that I made a mistake because I turned down a lot of jobs. It was because I wanted to relax, travel and now I am not getting any work. I felt that I had made a big mistake for my career. I thought I had learned my lesson and decided to wrap everything up in India and study abroad and do something else with my life.

Gulki Joshi had made preparations to go abroad

Gulki told that she was preparing to leave everything and then she got Madam Sir’s offer. He auditioned for it very reluctantly. He believed that he would not get this show. She says, ‘I had planned to do a course in Global MBA and settle abroad. That day I realized that no one can take away what is written in your destiny.

Gulki Joshi spoke on rejection

Gulki Joshi also talked about her rejections. Said, ‘In the beginning of my career, I have gone through many rejections. When you go for open auditions, they see you and tell you whether you fit the role or not. So I was told that I am not fit for the role. I still remember that I did two shows like Naadan Parindey and Phir Subah Hogi and went to audition for a reel role but there a person told me no no lead, maybe you would have been called for a maid role. I was deeply shocked and sat there. But the person who called me came there, cleared the misunderstanding and was very sorry about it. I felt bad but it also made me realize how the world is.
