The New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) 2023 will be held from May 11 to 14. It will screen more than 20 feature films, documentaries and ‘shorts’. Considered to be the most prestigious Indian film festival in North America, a special ‘screening’ of director Rahul Chittela’s film ‘Gulmohar’ will be held in this film festival.

Two films from India to be screened at NYIFF

The film has been highly appreciated by the critics. ‘The Three of Us’, directed by Avinash Arun, will also be screened during the festival. The film also stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Swanand Kirkire. The festival will open with ‘Goldfish’ starring Deepti Naval and Kalki Koechlin. It is directed by Pushan Kriplani. Sharmila Tagore, Manoj Bajpayee and Kalki Koechlin will participate in this film festival. The song ‘Naatu Naatu’ from the Telugu film ‘RRR’ has won the Oscar in the Best Original Song category at the 95th Academy Awards. However, the Indian documentary on climate change ‘All That Breathes’ missed out on winning the award in the Best Documentary Feature category. NYIFF director Aseem Chhabra said that after the global pandemic, the film festival is being organized as before this year instead of online.
