Harman Cruz becomes the new High Performance Director of Hockey India

New Delhi . Hockey India on Tuesday announced the appointment of Herman Cruz as the new High Performance Director. He will hold the position till September 2024 and will oversee the national junior and senior programs of Hockey India.
Herman Cruz, who is from the Netherlands. He has over two decades of coaching experience. He was previously appointed as the coach of the Indian men’s and junior women’s teams to oversee their preparations for the prestigious FIH Junior World Cup (men’s and women’s).
In his illustrious coaching experience, Herman Cruyff worked with Den Bosch Ladies, a Netherlands-based club, as their head coach.
During his tenure the team won the European Cup eight consecutive times. He was also the national head coach of the Netherlands indoor women’s hockey team from 2006 to 2008 and he was also the national head coach of the Netherlands outdoor team from 2008 to 2010.
In his most recent tenure he was the national head coach of the Belarus indoor and outdoor team from 2016 to August 2023. Cruz is a certified FIH coach-teacher.
Dr. Dilip Tirkey, President, Hockey India said, “Hockey India is pleased to appoint senior coach Harman Cruz as the Director of High Performance, Hockey India. He will be responsible for the various programs run by Hockey India including the junior and senior programs. Will oversee the programs. I wish Harman all the best in this new role.”
Expressing his delight on his appointment as the High-Performance Director, the High-Performance Director said, “I am looking forward to this new stint with Hockey India. The Indian teams are on the verge of creating history and I look forward to using my expertise to help Looking forward to using.”
