Hema Malinis dance enthralls everyone at the launch of Chal Mana Vrindavan

New Delhi. Dream girl Hema Malini mesmerized everyone with her dance moves during the book release event of ‘Chal Mana Vrindavan’ based on the holy Braj Bhoomi, in Delhi.

Actress Hema Malini is also a BJP MP representing the Mathura parliamentary constituency. At the same time, she is also the chief editor of the book. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri was also present on the occasion of book release.

The book launch event also saw a fashion show by designer Sulochana Monga. Models were seen dressed in beautiful lehengas representing the heritage and cultural sites of the spiritual city of Vrindavan.

The ‘Sholay’ fame actress performed dance steps with the models during the fashion show. Hema posed around the male model who was representing ‘Lord Krishna’, leaving the audience in awe of her performance.

Hema wore a green and yellow ombre print saree, teamed with a matching blouse that had ‘Braj’ printed on it. She completed her look with neckpiece, maangtika, bangles and tied her hair in a bun and put gajra on it.

Talking about the fashion show, Hema said, “I thank Sulochana Monga. I went to see her dress 10-15 days ago. I saw that there were beautiful lehengas with Vrindavan designs. I said that the book is about to be released, so I have to get this dress. So, I asked her to do a fashion show.”

He said, “Usually there is no fashion show during the release of a book. But when I requested him, he did this show. I hope you all liked the costumes.

Hema explained in detail the inspiration behind the publication of ‘Chal Mana Vrindavan’, its purpose and the cultural importance of Braj.

Hema said, “I am delighted to present this beautifully curated coffee table book showcasing the mystical charm of the holy land of Braj. Years of activism in politics, culture and art have made me realize how eager the artist in me is to explore every aspect of Braj.”

The actress said, “My thoughts are enthralled by the revered past of this great country, and it arouses in me the desire to bring it alive on stage through dance, song and drama. My journey has been in search of that bliss and this coffee table book is a part of this ethereal journey.

Talking further about the book, Hema said that it is based on the beautiful spirit of eternal Vrindavan.

He said, “What is Vrindavan?” What draws people from diverse backgrounds to the holy city of Vrindavan? Saints come here, artists, scholars, or Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Swami Haridas to Pandit Jasraj ji used to come to Vrindavan and sing. Be it Mirabai, be it Surdas, all the saints have come here. Vrindavan has always been a place of attraction.

The actress said that she has a lot of faith in Lord Krishna. He is really lucky to have become MP twice from this beautiful place.

He said that this book is very close to me. Dr. Ashok Bansal, the editor who brought out this wonderful coffee table book, is an ardent devotee of Lord Krishna. This book contains detailed information not only about Mathura and Vrindavan, but also about the entire Brajbhoomi.

He told that along with the many temples of Braj, its festivals, heritage, many such great poets who came to Braj and praised the pastimes of Radha-Krishna, you will get to see research on all of them in this book.

Hema said that after reading this coffee table book, you will feel that you are in Braj. This place was built a long time ago, but it is very beautiful.

The ‘Baghban’ fame actress further said that I asked my writer Shekhar Astitva in Mumbai if you can write something on ‘Chal Mana Vrindavan’. This song was composed and sung by Vivek Prakash. This song was also sung by Kavita Krishnamurthy. He has done a wonderful job.

The lines of the song are – equipped, well worshiped, beautiful, this is the holy land, this is sandalwood soil. This says the dark waves of Yamuna, Radha-Mohan settled here in every particle, let’s go to Vrindavan.

An illustrated and artistic tableau of the history of the main temples of Braj has been presented in the book.

The name of Radha-Krishna resonates everywhere in Braj. The pastimes of Shri Krishna, described in the Shrimad Bhagwat, have been re-imagined in the form of several festivals, which are being celebrated in Braj over the centuries.

They provide a reason, an opportunity and another medium for the devotees to connect with the divine through devotion, ritual, dance, music and food. Out of these festivals, different forms of Holi are famous all over the world.

Chaurasi Kos ki Parikrama, Govardhan Parikrama and Yama Dwitiya are other unique festivals of Braj. The description of their history and traditions is a special attraction of the book.
