During the hearing in the Bombay High Court on Monday, the matter of alleged chats with Shahrukh Khan being leaked to the media was also discussed. The court reprimanded Sameer Wankhede for the leaked chat and asked him whether he was responsible for the media leak of the conversation with Shahrukh. The High Court, while continuing the immunity from arrest to Sameer Wankhede, directed the CBI to file its reply by June 3, while Wankhede’s team would have to respond by June 7. After this, the next hearing will be held on June 8.
Lawyer said- Sameer Wankhede is being harassed
Sameer Wankhede was the chief investigating officer of the Aryan Khan drug case. In purported chats, Shah Rukh Khan is asking Sameer Wankhede to be lenient towards his son, while the former NCB Zonal Director can also be seen assuring him on the same. In the court, Sameer Wankhede’s lawyer alleged that his client is fully cooperating in the investigation, yet an honest officer is being harassed.
CBI said- Wankhede has leaked chat
On the other hand, the CBI claimed that Sameer was not answering several questions related to the Wankhede case. It seems that he does not want to share information about many aspects related to the case. The CBI alleged in the court that it was Sameer Wankhede who leaked his conversation with Shah Rukh Khan to the media.
CBI appealed not to stay the arrest
The central agency appealed to the court that Sameer Wankhede should not be given any shield against arrest. However, the court asked the CBI to file its reply on this by June 3 and till then stayed the arrest of Wankhede.
25 crores were asked for Aryan Khan?
Sameer Wankhede is accused of alleged extortion in the cruise drugs case involving Aryan Khan. In this connection, he appeared before the CBI in Mumbai for the third day on Monday. It is alleged that Sameer Wankhede and his associates demanded a bribe of Rs 25 crore from superstar Shah Rukh Khan to save his son Aryan from the Cordelia Cruz drugs raid. The deal was later finalized for Rs 18 crore. According to the statement given by Shahrukh Khan’s manager Pooja Dadlani to the NCB Vigilance team probing the corruption allegations, a token money of Rs 50 lakh was also given in this deal.
Wankhede faces allegations of bribery, extortion, conspiracy
The CBI has registered a case against Sameer Wankhede under the Prevention of Corruption Act on the basis of a complaint by the vigilance team of the Narcotics Control Bureau. In this, there are allegations of bribery provisions, criminal conspiracy and threats of extortion against him. The CBI had registered a case against Sameer Wankhede and four others on May 11.
