MumbaiMumbai: Bollywood actress Shabana Azmi has termed the record-breaking success of film “Pathan” as a kind of certificate, saying the Shah Rukh Khan starrer’s stupendous run at the box office gives hope that the boycott culture will finally end. Released about 50 days ago, the film has already earned around Rs 1000 crore worldwide. Azmi said that he expected the film under the banner of Yash Raj Films to be a hit, but he is surprised by the success it has received.
Azmi said, “I love ‘Pathan’, my heart was saying that ‘Pathan’ would be a hit, but it turned out to be such a success that it came out like a certificate.” I am very happy about this film.” Azmi said, “I hope this ends the boycott culture because the success of the film is actually the answer. I enjoyed the film.” In 2022, amid a boycott campaign by a section of people on social media, several big-budget films had failed to pull in theaters, including Aamir Khan’s ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, Ranbir Kapoor starring ‘Shamshera’, Akshay Kumar’s ‘Rakshabandhan’, and ‘Vikram Vedha’ starring Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan.
