We still can’t believe that Friends actor Matthew Perry has passed away. He was loved as Chandler and fans still don’t want to believe he’s gone. He died on 28 October at the age of 54. His body was found by Los Angeles police in a hot tub around 4 a.m. The actor was buried in a Los Angeles cemetery. Friends cast members Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer were present at his funeral and it was difficult for them to watch Chandler sleep peacefully. Now the post mortem report has come out. His autopsy report revealed the acute effects of ketamine.
Now, questions arise about the source and nature of his ketamine use. Dr. Bankole Johnson, a renowned neuroscientist, told Page Six that Matthew Perry may have obtained the drug illegally for recreational purposes. He said it was more likely it was recreational ketamine use. He also explained the dangers of mixing ketamine with buprenorphine, a medication taken by Matthew Perry for opioid addiction.
Dr. Johnson says it’s important to have professional administration of ketamine use
The actor’s ketamine infusion therapy was done one and a half weeks before his death. This therapy was used for depression and anxiety. Dr. Bankole Johnson further stated that it is important to have professional administration for the safe use of ketamine. Further toxicology findings stated that the level of ketamine in his system was above typical limits for monitored surgical settings. Buprenorphine was involved in his death and Dr. Johnson said that buprenorphine can enhance the sedating effects of ketamine and lead to unresponsiveness.
Jennifer Aniston revealed Matthew was happy and not in pain
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s report confirmed that ketamine is abused for recreational purposes at parties and raves. However, this does not confirm that Matthew Perry also abused it.
Speaking to Variety, Matthew Perry’s co-star Jennifer Aniston said he has quit smoking and is getting into shape. He was happy and had no pain.
