Dharmendra and Shabani Azmi’s kissing scene in Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Rocky and Rani’s love story is being discussed on social media. Karan Johar told that he convinced both of them to shoot for Kiss.

In an interview with Film Companion, Karan Johar was asked if he found it difficult to convince veteran Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi to shoot for the kissing sequence in Rocky and Rani’s love story.

Karan Johar said, “Two great legends performing with such elegance without question. I had to do it in a pack. One of my favorite songs is ‘Ab Na Jao Chhod Kar’ and it had to be their song because She says in dialogue that Mall Road Walk, her re-run, her favorite song. And it also became a kind of thematic connection between Rocky (Ranveer) and Rani (Alia).”

Regarding the kissing scene in the film Rocky and Rani’s love story, Dharmendra had said, I have heard that Shabana and I have surprised the audience with the kissing scene and they have appreciated it as well.

Dharmendra said, I think people were not expecting it and it came suddenly, so it created an impact. The last time I did a kissing scene was with Nafisa Ali in Life in a Metro and people appreciated it then too.

Veteran actor Dharmendra further added, “When Karan narrated the scene to us, I didn’t get excited. We understood it and I realized that it was something that was necessary for the film and was not forced and I said that I will do it.

‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ did a business of 11.1 crores, on the second day the movie earned Rs 16.05 crores. On the third day, the movie collected 18.75 crores and if media reports are to be believed, it earned Rs 7 crores on the fourth day. Till now the total collection has become 52.90 crores.
