How much did Deepika Padukone charge Shah Rukh Khan for the film Jawan, the actress revealed in the interview.

Deepika Padukone made her Bollywood debut with the film Om Shanti opposite superstar Shahrukh Khan. Since then, the pairing of Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone is much liked. Deepika played the lead role in the film Pathan and this time Deepika has done a cameo in the film Jawan.

Deepika Padukone who was last seen in a cameo role in Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan, has opened up about her relationship. In an interview with The Week, Deepika said that her relationship with Shah Rukh Khan goes beyond work, calling them ‘each other’s lucky charm’. She said the ‘trust and respect’ between them allows them to be vulnerable with each other.

Deepika said “We are each other’s lucky charm. But honestly, we are down on our luck. We have a sense of ownership over each other. There is a lot of trust and respect, and I think luck is at the top,” Deepika told The Week. Earlier this year, Deepika was also seen in ‘Pathan’ with Shah Rukh Khan, and now she is also getting praise for her cameo in ‘Jawaan’, which marks Deepika’s fifth collaboration with Shah Rukh. Deepika made her Bollywood debut with Om Shanti Om in 2007 with Shahrukh. She has also co-starred in Happy New Year and Chennai Express. All his films have performed well at the box office.

On box office success

While ‘Pathan’ performed brilliantly at the box office and grossed over ₹1000 crore worldwide, Jaawan is close to earning over ₹700 crore worldwide. This film was released on 7 September.

Talking about why her films with Shah Rukh did well at the box office, Deepneka Padukone said in the same interview, “I was never attracted by numbers, be it maths in school or Pathan’s numbers. I was just happy that theaters were alive again, that people were alive again. “I was really grateful for that.”

He also said that he did not charge any fees for Jawan or any of his special roles in films. They said “I wanted to be a part of 83 because I wanted it to be an ode to women who stand behind the glory of their husbands. I saw my mother do this. Ibis was my tribute to the wives who make sacrifices to support their husbands’ careers. Also, any special appearance for Shahrukh Khan, I am there. Same is the case with Rohit Shetty.

On your favorite co-star

Earlier this year, around the release of Pathan, in a video shared by the film’s production house, Yash Raj Films, Deepika had called Shah Rukh her ‘favourite co-star’.

He had said, “Shah Rukh and I have been very fortunate that we have got the opportunity to work in some incredible films ranging from Om Shanti Om. I am working with my favorite co-star Shahrukh. We have a beautiful relationship and I think the audience always sees it in our films.
