New Delhi: Actor Navneet Malik, who will be seen playing a negative role in the intriguing thriller series ‘The Freelancer’, opened up about the challenges he faced in Bollywood and how he faced rejections on his way to success.Navneet is proud of his talent and ‘Heropanti’ 2′, ‘Love Hostel’ and the song ‘Janiya’ with more than five million views in spite of successful appearances, faced a lot of setbacks.
Navneet reveals, “I left the comfort of my home and being a civil engineer to chase a dream in Mumbai. Every day, I auditioned with hope. My bag was not just full of clothes, it had my dreams and determination. Buses and trains became my companions, taking me on long journeys between auditions scattered across the city.’
Each rejection left its mark, Navneet said, ‘Out of countless auditions, only a few times I felt like being in the spotlight. Even if one or two of these turned into actual projects, it felt like a significant accomplishment. It was a lesson that taught me that rejection is a part of an actor’s life and journey.
Despite the challenges, Navneet’s spirit remains intact. It seems unfair to lose a project for these reasons, especially when you know you have what it takes to make it big and put your whole heart and soul into it Navneet said, ‘I have faced more than 140 rejections, each one has left its mark on me, as I have slowly moved forward. It’s not just about saying yes or no, it’s about finding the strength to keep going despite setbacks. Those rejections are the part of my story that gives it more meaning. Although waiting may be difficult, but it also shows how determined I am.
