Imran Khan will not be arrested, police returned, supporters are happy

Imran was to be arrested in the Toshakhana case. The team of police and rangers reached here on Tuesday evening. Activists of Imran’s party Pakistan-Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) attacked the police with stones and sticks. The police appeared on the backfoot. Even the Rangers could not control the situation. Petrol bombs were also thrown at the police. Helicopters and drones were also deployed.

Imran is accused of buying precious gifts from the government treasury (Toshakhana) at the price of pennies and selling them for billions of rupees. The Islamabad High Court had issued an order to arrest him till 29 March. On Wednesday, Imran filed a petition in the Lahore High Court to quash the arrest warrant. The High Court issued an order on this. Said- Police should not take any action in Zaman Park till 10 am on Thursday.
