New Delhi: Four goals from Maninder Singh and a hat-trick from Mohammad Rahil helped India thrash Bangladesh 15-1 to start their campaign in the Men’s Asian Hockey 5S World Cup Qualifier with a bang on Tuesday. The Indian team dominated from the very beginning against their weaker opponents.

Bangladesh had scored initially but after that India did not give them any further chances. For India, Maninder scored in the 10th, 18th, 28th and 30th minutes while Rahil scored in the 2nd, 15th and 24th minutes.

Apart from them, Sukhwinder (13th, 22nd), Gurjot Singh (13th, 23rd) and Pawan Rajbhar (19th, 26th) scored two goals each while Mandeep Mor (8th) and Dipsan Tirkey (9th) scored one goal each. Savon Sarovar (2nd minute) scored the only goal for Bangladesh. India will play two matches on Wednesday. First they will face hosts Oman and then they will take on arch-rivals Pakistan. They will face Malaysia and Japan on Thursday.
