New Delhi: Bangladesh’s top order batsman Najmul Hossain Shanto scored a century in the second innings as well while batting brilliantly against Afghanistan. He completed his century just before lunch on the third day of the match. Shanto had scored a century in ODI style in the first innings as well. He scored an inning of 146 runs in 175 balls hitting 23 fours and 2 sixes. He became only the second batsman for the Bangladesh team to score a century in both innings of a Test. As soon as Shanto completed his century, he started celebrating by throwing a flying kiss in the style of Virat Kohli. This match is very special for him, because scoring a century in both the innings is no less than a charisma. Only Mominul Haque could do this before him for Bangladesh. He scored 176 and 105 runs in both innings of the same match against Sri Lanka in 2018 respectively.
He got out after scoring 124 runs in 151 balls with the help of 15 fours. He was caught out by Zaheer Khan at the hands of Abdul Malik. In response, the Afghanistan team was dismissed after scoring only 146 runs. 7 of his batsmen could not cross the figure of Dahai, while Jazai scored the highest innings of 36 runs.
