In-form Virat Kohli and opener Shubman Gill followed by hundreds from Mohammad Siraj’s career-best bowling as India thrashed Sri Lanka by 317 runs in the third and final ODI to register their biggest win in history and also 3-0 clean sweep in the three-match series. The previous record for the biggest win in terms of runs in ODI cricket was in the name of New Zealand, who beat Ireland by 290 runs in 2008. Chasing India’s target of 391, Sri Lanka scored only 73 runs in 22 overs in front of the sharp bowling of Siraj (4 for 32), Mohammed Shami (2 for 20) and Kuldeep Yadav (2 for 16). Could only score runs, which is the fourth lowest score in the history of the visiting team. Ashen Bandara did not come out to bat due to injury.
