India on Wednesday announced a 23-member squad for the first round of the women’s U-17 AFC Asian Cup Qualifier football tournament, starting on April 24 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. India are in Group F which also includes hosts Kyrgyzstan and Myanmar. The Indian team will play their first match against the hosts on 26 April and then take on Myanmar on 28 April. The Indian team last played in the SAFF U-17 Women’s Championship in Dhaka where the team finished third. Since then the team has been participating in the Indore camp.
The team is as follows: Goalkeepers: Sarangthem Khambi Chanu, Anisha Oraon, Khushi Kumari. Defenders: Yendrembam Thoi Thoi Devi, Toijam Thoibisana Chanu, Heena Khatoon, Vikshit Bara, Juhi Singh, Akhila Rajan, Arya Anilkumar, Irom Sonibia Devi. Midfielders: Nongmeikapam Shibani Devi, Lorembam Menaka Devi, Shivani Toppo, Babita Kumari, Cindy Remrutpui Kolani, Shweta Rani, Sulanjana Raul, Remy Thokchom, Lalitha Boypai. Forwards: Kajal Kumari, Shilji Shaji, Pooja.
