The third medal in India’s bag was also bronze. Which was provided by the men’s quadruples team of rowing. Along with this, Aishwarya Pratap Singh won the fourth medal for India in the individual competition – bronze in 10 meter air rifle.
While the fifth medal came in 25 meter rapid fire. India’s team comprising Vijayveer Sidhu, Anish Bhanwala and Adarsh Singh won bronze along with making it to the finals in the 25m pistol event.
The Indian women’s cricket team created history in China and won the gold medal. Under the captaincy of Harmanpreet Kaur, the team achieved this feat by defeating the Sri Lankan team by 19 runs.

Bopanna-Bhambri pair out
Top seeds Rohan Bopanna and Yuki Bhambri have suffered a setback in the men’s doubles round. Bopanna-Bhambri pair is out of the Asian Games. They were defeated by Uzbekistan’s Sergei Fomin and Khumoyun Sultanov 2-6, 6-3, 10-6. Indian women’s doubles pair Rutuja Bhosale and Karman Thandi won 6-4, 6-2 against Kazakhstan’s Zhanel Rustamova and Aruzhan Sagandikova in the first round.
Indian rugby team finished eighth
The Indian women’s rugby team performed very disappointingly in the Asian Games, failing to register even a single win out of four matches. India were defeated 15-0 by Singapore, ranked 35th in the world, in their third match of Pool F here on Monday. Earlier on Sunday, the team was defeated by Hong Kong 38-0 and Japan by a huge margin of 45-0. The Indian team thus could not score a single point in the group stage matches. The Indian team disappointed in the seventh and eighth place matches also.
