Indian shuttlers pair Chirag-Satwaki performed brilliantly in the India Open Super 750 badminton tournament on Thursday. In fact, apart from second seeded Indian pair of Satwik Sairaj Ranki Reddy and Chirag Shetty, eighth seeded HS Prannoy in men’s singles made it to the quarter-finals at the KD Jadhav Indoor Stadium.

In the last 16 match, Satwik-Chirag defeated Taiwan’s Lu Shing Yao and Yang Po Han 21-14, 21-15 in 45 minutes. Prannoy defeated his compatriot Priyanshu Rajawat in one hour and 16 minutes and secured his place in the last eight.

Now the pair of Satwik-Chirag will be paired with Denmark’s fifth seeded pair of Kim Astrup and Anders Rasmussen, who defeated the Chinese pair in a three-game clash.

The contest between Pranay and Priyanshu was very competitive. Priyanshu had caused an upset by defeating 2022 winner Lakshya Sen in the first round. Here too, he had the same start as the first round, winning the first game by 22-20, but in the second game, Prannoy made a strong start and took a lead of 5-0, but Priyanshu was not going to give up. He made the score 10-12.
