Mohammed Siraj’s 6/15 are his career best figures and the second best before lunch on the first day of a men’s Test (Stuart Broad had figures of 8/15 against Australia in 2015).
Siraj overtakes Venkatesh Prasad
Mohammed Siraj’s 9 overs are the fewest overs to take 6 or more wickets in men’s Test. Venkatesh Prasad had produced figures of 6/33 in 10.2 overs against Pakistan in Chennai in 1999. 23 wickets in a day in a Test, the joint-highest since South Africa vs Australia at Newlands in 2011. The record for the highest so far at Lord’s is 27 wickets (England vs Australia) in 1888.
