Indian chess players won gold, silver and bronze in Singapore Championship

New Delhi (Uttam Hindu News): In an unprecedented victory that reverberated across the chess world, Mumbai’s exceptional young talents nurtured under the South Mumbai Chess Academy (SMCA) have won the Singapore Chess Championship.
The prestigious annual chess competition organized by the Singapore Chess Federation saw stiff competition, with around 600 players from 14 countries taking part.
Ahan Kataruka emerged as an undisputed champion, winning the gold medal in the tightly contested Under-8 category. Ahan’s extraordinary achievement, which produced a perfect record of 7 wins in 7 matches, demonstrated unparalleled strategic skills, exceptional calculations and a photographic memory. His knack for converting advantages into precise, winning positions has firmly established him as a dominant force on the global chess stage.
Displaying unmatched composure and strategic brilliance, Nova Juyal scored 6 out of 7 to clinch a remarkable silver medal in the Under-8 category. Nova’s calm demeanor and tactical acumen further cemented SMCA’s reputation as a breeding ground for chess talent.
The Under-12 category saw another win for India as Ashrita Guttula won the bronze medal. Ashrita’s unwavering focus and exemplary endgame skills underlined the deep talent developed at SMCA, adding another chapter to India’s success story in international chess.
Adding further to India’s pride, Ananya Khadelwal secured a worthy place in the prestigious honors list, further strengthening SMCA’s position as a powerhouse in chess training. Advait Agarwal was also a part of the Indian team.
