Employees of the main reservation center located at Cantt Railway Station said that due to Holi festival falling on March 25 next month, people have started making reservations in trains. There is waiting in all classes in Shivganga Express coming from Delhi to Varanasi since March 20.
The waiting list in sleeper is 60, in third AC is 25 and in second AC is above ten. Same is the situation in 12392 Shramjeevi Express going from New Delhi to Rajgir via Varanasi Cantt. Tickets of 15623 Kamakhya Express are full in all classes.
14006 Lichchavi Express has 70 waiting seats in sleeper and waiting seats in all air-conditioned coaches. Seats are not available even in 12582 Delhi-Banaras Superfast Express train. There is waiting in all coaches. 13413 Farakka Express, 12562 Swatantrata Senani, 14018 Sadbhavna train are also full.
This situation continues till the day of Holi. On the other hand, seats are available in both Vande Bharat Express, but due to the high fare, common passengers do not travel in it. A tour operator said that seats are waiting in the Lokmanya Tilak Terminus-Gorakhpur Express coming from Mumbai to Varanasi since March 20.
In this way, there are 56 waiting tickets in the sleeper of LTT-Banaras and waiting tickets in both the AC coaches also. The most important train Mahanagari Express is showing waiting list from now on in all classes. Waiting tickets are available in sleeper and other coaches of Kamayani Express also. Passengers are getting disappointed in making reservations in LTT-Gorakhpur Express and LTT-Jayanagar Express also.
Trains coming from Ahmedabad, Surat and Ludhiana will also be full till Holi.
Let us tell you that on March 20, the waiting in sleeper of Tapti Ganga Express coming from Surat has reached above 88, while there is waiting in third and two-AC also. There is long waiting time in Udhna-Banaras Express also. Long waiting times are also going on in Sabarmati, Ahmedabad-Varanasi Express, Ahmedabad-Gorakhpur, Okha-Banaras returning from Ahmedabad to Varanasi.
A week before Holi, the seats of seven trains coming from Ludhiana to Varanasi are also full. There is no confirmed seat in any of them. Since March 20, there is ticket waiting in all categories of Amritsar-Tata Express, Humsafar, Archana Express, Punjab Mail, Begumpura, Kolkata Express, Ganga Sutlej Express.
