INDW vs AUSW Test: Indian women’s team again created history, defeated Australia for the first time in Test

Indian women’s cricket team defeated Australia’s women’s team for the first time in Test cricket. On the last day of the game at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the Indian team registered a spectacular victory by 8 wickets. This was the biggest win of any team against England in terms of runs in Test cricket. This is India’s first win in 11 Tests against Australia. The Indian women’s team has so far registered seven wins in 40 tests while losing six matches. 27 matches of the team have been drawn.

While new Test stars like Jemima, Shubha Satish and Renuka Singh Thakur emerged during last week’s win against England, 20-year-old Richa Ghosh made her debut against Australia and scored an inning of 52 runs. Indian spinners dominated on the morning of the fourth day. Sneh Rana (four wickets for 63 runs) and Rajeshwari Gaikwad (two wickets for 42 runs) did not take much time to wrap up Australia’s innings.

Australia had its sights set on strengthening its lead of 46 runs but lost its remaining five wickets within 45 minutes in the first session. Pooja Vastrakar (1 wicket for 40 runs) gave India its first success of the day by LBW Ashleigh Gardner (07).
