Jasmine, representing SSCB, showcased her experience and won 5-0 over Manipur’s Thongam Kunjarani Devi in the round of 16 match. Now Jasmine will face Poonam Kaithwas of Maharashtra in the quarter finals. Meanwhile, former youth world champion Arundhati faces off against All India Police’s Amita.
Arundhati displayed skill and powerful punches to win the bout 5-0. Now the boxer will face Komalpreet Kaur of Punjab in the quarter finals. In other important matches, SSCB’s Sakshi (57 kg) faced Delhi’s Jyoti in the round of 32 match.
The match saw a tough fight until Sakshi landed a flurry of punches and ultimately won the bout as the referee stopped the bout in the third round. In the round of 16, she will face Rafa Mohid of Telangana. Haryana’s Sweety Boora (81 kg) defeated UP’s Kanishka in a thrilling match.
The 2023 World Championships gold medalist displayed her skills as she defeated her opponent after the bout was stopped by the referee in Round 3. She will face Sai Dawkhar of Maharashtra in the quarter-finals. The ongoing prestigious tournament organized by the Boxing Federation of India is seeing participation from over 300 boxers competing across 12 categories. The final will be played on Wednesday.
