Interview: ‘Fargie’ fame Rashi Khanna said- I am like a sandwich in the life of both Shahid Kapoor and Sethupathi

Actress Rashi Khanna, who has worked in Bollywood and South films, is in discussion these days for her web series Farzi. Rashi She was earlier seen in Rudra: The Edge of Darkness opposite Ajay Devgan. An exclusive interview with him.

On the response received for her new show Farzi, she says, ‘I am very happy that people are liking Farzi. We were waiting for this show for the last two years when it would come and now it has finally arrived. I always felt that we have made a very good show and now the proof is being seen as people are liking this show.

Took no time to say yes to the show
Talking about her experiences during the show, Rashi says, ‘I think the title Fake is very apt as the show is about fake currency. When I heard this script, I found this story very different and new, because earlier no show was made on such a story anywhere. I know Raj and DK sir (Directors Raj & DK) have done a lot of hard work and research on this topic. This show was very attractive to me because it took me no time at all to say yes to work with such good actors.

Most girls will be able to relate to my character
She says, ‘I am a character who lives like a sandwich in the lives of both Shahid and Sethupathi. The best part of the show is the way the characters have been written. Each character has its own specialty. If we talk about my character then every girl will be able to relate to my character because she is a girl who makes her existence in the world of men which every girl tries to do in today’s world. When you turn 30, your parents think that if you don’t do anything else, just get married, then understanding the character, most of the girls will be able to feel that pressure too.’

Sharing her experience with Shahid Kapoor, Rashi says, ‘I have seen Shahid’s films since childhood and I think he is an amazing actor. When I met him for the first time, I was a little nervous because I usually don’t talk so fast and Shahid is such a funny person. I remember on the very first day we became friends. Actually, I have also studied from Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi and his wife Meera is also from the same college, so we started talking from there. Even after friendship, when I had my first scene with Shahid, I was a bit nervous because Shahid is a very good actor, but the first shot we did went very well and after that I was a bit relaxed. One thing I have noticed about Shahid is that he comes on the set as a character. I never saw Shahid on the set but saw his character Sunny.

Talking about her upcoming film Yoddha, Rashi says, ‘The shooting of Yoddha has been completed and we are also waiting for it to release as soon as possible. I think Sidharth Malhotra is bettering himself with every film he does and he has done a great job in Yodha as well. We are very excited as a team. Just like I play a strong girl in Farzi, similarly I play a very strong girl in Yoddha. I am just happy that people will see more and more of me in strong characters.

I have done films where my character was not good
What kind of characters do you choose? But Rashi says, ‘In our profession, we can never tell what and what kind of character will come. We can only hope that we get good roles and people see our talent. I have done films where my role was not so good but sometimes you have to do that to survive. But now I have reached the place where I am getting good characters and when you are offered good characters, then the confidence increases that I am doing something good.

This is a good time for budding actors
Do they see digital media as a safe medium, but Rashi says, ‘I cannot say anything on whether it is safe or not, but I feel that this is a very good time for those who are actors. want to be I think very good characters are being written for OTT. The best part of OTT is that you get a lot of time, depth and screen space for your character, which many times actors don’t get in films. But a film is a film, it has its own fun because what you see on the big screen cannot match with anyone else. I think now is the time where people are liking films and OTT together.

Which character cost you the most as an actress? In response, she says, ‘The character I played in Rudra was very difficult for me, because I knew that either it could be very good or very bad for me. The character was totally crazy and I am not like that at all, so for me it was totally going out of my comfort zone. I was afraid whether it would work or not but people gave a lot of love. So that character gave me some courage that I can go ahead and challenge myself for such characters.

Regarding her acting journey, she says, ‘I never thought of becoming an actor. There were no actors around me, I never used to watch much films even in my childhood. I wanted to become an IAS officer, but luck has its own way. A friend of mine wanted to become an actor and had come to Mumbai with her. Once I was called for the audition of Madras Cafe and I gave the audition and after that I got the film. Then I felt that hey, I enjoy doing this work and then I decided that this is what I want to do in my life. I am a big fan of Shahrukh Khan since childhood. I wish that someday in my life I can share the screen with him. I am a child of 90s and have seen SRK as my hero since my childhood. When I watch his films, I feel that he is magic, so I wish with all my heart that I can work with him.
