IPL 2024: RCB and KKR will go to maintain the winning streak – Dainik Savera Times

Their morale has been boosted by the win in the last match but maturity is yet to be brought in their performance and on Friday, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders will enter the IPL 2024 match with the intention of performing as per expectations. In the last match, RCB defeated Punjab Kings by four wickets while KKR defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by four runs. Despite this, the problems of top and middle order batting of both the teams remain. The RCB camp might have heaved a sigh of relief after star batsman Virat Kohli scored a half-century while chasing the target of 177 runs against Punjab. Good innings are expected from captain Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green and Rajat Patidar. Dinesh Karthik’s experience and ‘impact player’ Mahipal Lomror’s useful innings came in handy in the last moments against Punjab.

KKR have a good bowling attack and if they perform well as a unit, they can cause trouble for the RCB batsmen. For RCB, fast bowlers Mohammad Siraj and Yash Dayal bowled well against Punjab but the rest of the bowlers will have to perform better. Fast bowler Alzarri Joseph gave 38 runs in the first match and did not get any wicket while in the second match he took one wicket for 43 runs. In such a situation, the RCB camp can field England’s left-arm fast bowler Reece Topley.

KKR has captain Shreyas Iyer, Venkatesh Iyer, Sunil Narine and Nitish Rana in the top and middle order who could not perform against Sunrisers at the Eden Gardens. Impact players Ramandeep Singh, Rinku Singh and Andre Russell were able to take the team to a good score by batting at sixth, seventh and eighth positions. Shreyas played two balls and could not even open the account. However, their good performance in the last two innings at Chinnaswamy Stadium will boost their morale. In last year’s World Cup, he scored unbeaten 128 against Netherlands and 53 in the fifth T20 against Australia in December. In bowling, Nadeem took one wicket for 19 runs but expensively bought Mitchell Starc and Varun Chakraborty could not impress.
