Japan and Zambia win in Football Women’s World Cup, win in spectacular match

In the Women’s World Cup 2023, Zambia’s team defeated Costa Rica to win the tournament for the first time. Earlier, in the match against Spain, Japan’s team won 4-0 and topped the table. However, both Zambia and Costa Rica are out of the tournament.

In the first match between Japan and Spain, the Japanese team scored three goals in the first half. These three goals helped the Japanese team to win the match. India beat Spain 4-0 in their Group C match of the Women’s Football World Cup to top the group here on Monday. Hinata Miyazawa scored two goals for Japan in the 12th and 40th minutes. At the same time, his teammate Riko Ueki scored a goal in the 29th minute and Mina Tanaka in the 82nd minute, making the team’s total four goals. Spain had more possession of the ball throughout the match. Japan, however, managed to dominate the match despite having 22 percent of the ball possession.

Both the teams have already secured a place in the last 16. Japan achieved this feat for the fourth time in a row while Spain achieved this for the second time in a row. Both the teams had earlier defeated Zambia by the same margin of 5-0. A 3–0 win against Costa Rica put Spain on top due to superior goal difference. A draw against Japan on Monday would have also put them top of the group for the first time in history, but Japan thwarted their plans. Japan will now face Group A runners-up Norway in the pre-quarterfinals on Saturday, while Spain will play Switzerland, winners of the same group.

Zambia’s match was like this

Lushomo Mvimba scored the fastest goal at this year’s Women’s World Cup and Barbara Banda scored her 1,000th goal as debutants Zambia beat Costa Rica 3-1 on Monday to register their first win of the tournament. With this victory, the Zambian team will return home with their heads held high. Both the teams are already out of the knockout race. The first goal for Zambia was scored by Mvimba in two minutes and 11 seconds, which is the fastest goal of the tournament. Wherein Banda scored the goal on the penalty corner in the 31st minute. Melissa Herrera scored the lone goal for Costa Rica in the 47th minute. Rachael Kay scored the third goal for Zambia in the third minute of injury time.
