Archbishop Felix Toppo addressed the celebration at St. Mary’s Basilica. He said that God loved man so much that He gave His only Son so that whoever believes in Him may have eternal life. The core of Christianity is hidden in this verse. It’s a Christmas message. He said that when God created man, he made him like himself. That is, we have been given a soul that will never die. If we do good work and follow his orders, we will attain heaven, otherwise we will go to hell. God has given us freedom. We can choose either of these two paths, but God does not want any of us to go to hell. There is compassion, mercy and forgiveness in his heart, that is why he sent his only son into this world as a savior. Christmas songs added to the celebration. “The whole world is saying this in the night Jesus is born…”, “The star above the manger shines every now and then…”, “Bethulham Gohar my golden lotus blooms…”, “Tukur Tukur Dekhela Mariam Kar Kora Mein…” and other songs were presented. The Christmas get together of Ranchi Archdiocesan Catholic Women’s Association was held at St. Joseph’s Club, Purulia Road. Representatives of Ranchi, Dighia, Mandar, Lohardaga and Ulathu Vicariate participated in it. Sung Christmas songs and participated in Jharkhandi cuisine competition. Christmas gathering was celebrated at St. Stephen’s Church, Coker. The chief guest was former Deputy Mayor Sanjeev Vijayvargiya and special guest was Pastor John Toppo. Members of Sunday School, Diocese of Chhotanagpur Youth Movement and Mahila Samiti presented songs and dances. In this, all the Tola and Rims Mandali of Kokar Parish, Bharam Toli Mandali and Hatma Mandali also presented programs. Paris Council members and church members were present on this occasion.

A crowd of youth gathered at the Christmas Gathering of Christian Life Community (CLC), the youth community of RC Church. Christmas get together was held at St. John’s Church of CNI Hatia-Dhurva Parish, Kalyanpur. Group singing, group dance and on the spot song competitions were held. Parish priest Father Sanjay Tirkey blessed the manger and cut the Christmas cake. The stage was coordinated by Neha Jyoti Toppo and Jyotsna Kachhap. Mass was celebrated at Holy Trinity Church, Kadru Parish. Rev. Sikandar Nag said that Jesus came to this earth for the poor, the downtrodden and the people at the bottom of the society.
