Juhi Chawla reacts to Salman Khan saying her family rejected his wedding proposal

A video of Salman Khan talking about Juhi Chawla’s father rejecting his marriage proposal went viral a few days back. In the video clip, Salman had shared how he was impressed with Juhi. Now Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak fame actress Juhi Chawla has reacted to the viral video. She also opened up about turning down a film with him because he wasn’t The Salman Khan when the offer came.

In a recent interview, Juhi laughed off Salman’s marriage proposal. Salman had said about Juhi in one of his interviews, she is a very sweet, lovely girl. I asked her father will you let her marry me. He refused. Juhi also told News18 about refusing to do a film in which he was supposed to star opposite her.

Juhi told that initially she knew little about Salman and Aamir Khan. He said, in those days, when I was just starting my career, and when Salman was not Salman Khan, a film came to me in which he was the lead actor. In fact, I didn’t know anyone well then – not him, not Aamir (Khan) or anyone else in the industry. Incidentally, I could not do the film due to some issues.

Salman Khan and Juhi Chawla started their careers in Bollywood almost at the same time. While Juhi made her debut with the 1988 film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Salman entered the Hindi film industry with the 1988 film Biwi Ho To Aisi. But throughout their careers, Salman and Juhi never shared the screen, except for Salman’s cameo in Juhi’s film Deewana Mastana, which starred Anil Kapoor and Govinda.

Sharing how Salman still taunts her for refusing to do a film with him, Juhi said, and till date, he hasn’t missed a single opportunity to remind me of this! You didn’t do a film with me, he keeps saying. We hardly worked together in films but we did a lot of stage shows. He had a cameo in Deewana Mastana.

Juhi Chawal is now rarely seen in films. Last year she appeared in the web series Hush Hush and Sharmaji Namkeen starring Rishi Kapoor, Salman Khan on the other hand is continuously active in films. His upcoming film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is going to release on 21st April on the occasion of Eid. There is tremendous enthusiasm among the fans of Salman Khan regarding this film. Now the thing to be seen is whether this film makes a big splash at the box office or then it remains just a light storm.
