Press Release: These days the gap between the common man and the special man is so long and deep that it has become very difficult to bridge. Everyone has been given equal rights in the law, but if a common man needs it, does the law really stand together to help him? The film ‘Kaagaz 2’ is a sensitive film that explores this. In this series, the film ‘Kaagaj’, released two years ago, was also the story of a common man, who despite being alive, is declared dead in the government papers. That film, directed by Satish Kaushik, was inspired by the true incident. Now the second film of that franchise ‘Kaagaz 2’ has arrived. Along with highlighting the pain of the common man, this film also attacks the political and social system. Due to political rallies, strikes and demonstrations, traffic jams at many places cause problems to the common people. This is the last film starring late actor and filmmaker Satish Kaushik. As per his wish, this film has been released in theaters on March 1.

Story

The story of the film ‘Kaagaz 2’ is the story of two families. Uday Pratap Singh’s (Darshan Kumar) father Raj Narayan Singh, who is undergoing training at the Indian Military Academy (IMA), abandons him in his childhood. Raj Narayan Singh has also separated from his wife. Uday Pratap Singh regrets that if he had grown up under his father’s upbringing, the goal of his life would have been different. In such a situation, he is unable to remain focused on work. Events take a turn and he leaves IMA and comes home. His mother Radhika (Neena Gupta) runs her own boutique. Meanwhile, Uday’s father lawyer Raj Narayan Singh (Anupam Kher) expresses his desire to meet him. Uday reluctantly goes to meet them. He is extremely angry with his father for abandoning him and his mother in his childhood. He comes to know that his father has blood cancer. Despite this, he is fighting the case of a helpless father Sushil Rastogi (Satish Kaushik). Whereas, the second story is of a father and daughter. Daughter Arya Rastogi is a UPSC topper and is going to become an IPS officer. But, all the dreams of her parents are shattered when their daughter dies due to the negligence of the administration. Arya Rastogi dies due to not getting timely treatment due to being stuck in a traffic jam due to a political rally. Sushil Rastogi fights to get justice for his daughter. Uday also becomes a part of this campaign. For other people of the society, this is just another incident, but what happens to the family with whom this has happened, only those who have experienced it can understand. In the film, the pain of a helpless father brings tears to the eyes of the audience when he gets sympathy in the court, but his intentions are brought under the ambit of the law and his intentions are questioned. The suffering of a common man that emerges in this scene makes the audience very emotional.

screenplay

Rules written on paper are ineffective unless they are implemented. This film gives this message. In the climax of the film, Sushil Rastogi says, ‘In the name of serving the country, our leaders hold rallies, hold protests, they will really change the country. Who gave them the right to block the paths of others to pave their own path? This dialogue raises questions on the system which marginalises the common man. The film raises this issue in a logical manner. It also underlines the impact of parental separation on children. However, the writer and director have taken a lot of time to establish Uday’s character in the beginning of the film. The author takes a long time to get to the point. Many scenes between father and son are very sensitive and they also leave an impact on the hearts and minds.

acting

In the role of helpless father Sushil Rastogi, late Satish Kaushik is seen displaying his acting abilities at his best. At the same time, Anupam Kher’s performance in the role of fearless lawyer Raj Narayan was also the best display of his ability. Raj Narayan has his own past due to which his son Uday does not like him. But, when the son comes to know the truth about his father, he supports his father. The role of Uday is played by Darshan Kumar. He has worked hard on fitness to adapt to the character. Other lead actors Smriti Kalra, Neena Gupta, Anang Desai, Kiran Kumar and Karan Razdan have also played their roles effectively.
