Mumbai Bollywood actresses Kajol and Rani Mukherjee participated in the streaming chat show ‘Coffee with Karan’. Both of them had a lot of fun while interacting with the show’s host Karan Johar. She told how despite being cousins, they could not become friends immediately.

Kajol and Rani shared the screen space in Karan Johar’s directorial debut ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, but it is said that they were not friends and did not spend much time with each other until things… Things did not go well as the lives of both the stars moved on.

During the episode, Karan asked, “You two seem very close now, but there was no friendship or relationship between you at all then, right?”

Responding to this, Kajol said, “Not really.”

Recalling Kajol and Rani’s equation, Karan Johar said, “I used to wonder that the families don’t talk to each other, they are cousins. Was there any distance?”

Agreeing with him, Kajol said, “To be honest, it was a distance. As far as work is concerned, we both liked where we were.”

Karan Johar asked Rani, “Did you feel there was any distance when you worked with her?”

She replied, “Of course, I have known her since childhood, she was always Kajol didi to me. It was a bit strange. You grow up and you become different, you don’t really know the reason. We did that. Kajol didi lived in the town and we were in Juhu. Tanisha and I were very close and we still are. Kajol didi was always close to the boys in the family, my brother and Samrat da.
