Chennai | Renowned actor Kamal Haasan has thanked late Telugu filmmaker K.K. Vishwanath, who breathed his last on Thursday. The two had worked together in iconic films like ‘Sagar Sangamam’, ‘Swathi Muthyam’ and ‘Subhasankalpam’ and Kamal Haasan considers Vishwanath his mentor.
“Salute to a master,” he tweeted. The touching words, which were followed by a tribute written on the actor’s hand, are a sign of his respect for the legendary director, who highlighted Indian art and culture in his films.
The letter read, “Kalathapasvi K. Vishwanath Garu understood the transience of life and art perfectly. Hence his art will be celebrated even after his lifetime and reign. Long live his art. An ardent admirer, Kamal Haasan.”
Significantly, Kamal Haasan and Vishwanath had worked in many successful films. The two last met when Kamal Haasan met the veteran director during his visit to Hyderabad in November last year.
Meanwhile, tributes poured in for the late actor from prominent personalities of Tollywood on Friday.
