After the success of Vikram, Kamal Haasan’s career is on an upswing once again. He recently joined the huge starcast of Kalki 2898 AD, in which names like Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone have already been attached. Kamal Haasan is also working with director Shankar on the sequel of his 1996 hit film Hindustani/Indian and the buzz about that film is very good.
In fact, Kamal Haasan is so happy and proud of the work done by director Shankar in the film that he gifted him a watch worth Rs 8 lakh in the month of June as a token of appreciation. He tweeted, “I saw the key shots of ‘Indian 2’ today. My best wishes are with Shankar Shanmugh. My advice is don’t let this be your peak. Because this is the highest phase of your artistic life. Don’t take it to the top and be proud.”
Netflix buys Indian 2 rights for Rs 200 crore
The latest on the film is that streaming giant Netflix has bought the digital rights of the film in all languages for an amount of over Rs 200 crore. A source close to the development told ETimes, “Shankar has really outdone himself with Indian 2 and those who have seen portions of the film are extremely happy with the result.” Indian 2 picks up from where part 1 ended which means Kamal Haasan’s character as Senapati will be around 90 years old. In fact, a few weeks ago ETimes had reported that Kamal Haasan would spend around 4 hours on the make-up chair to get into his look and 2 hours to remove Senapati’s look.
