Kapil Sharma changed his surname before becoming a comedian

Kapil Sharma: National television’s most favorite comedian Kapil Sharma is a brand name today. He has crores of followers not only in the country but all over the world, who are desperate to get a glimpse of him. Today the actor has turned 43 years old.

Famous comedian Kapil Sharma was born on 2 April 1981 in Amritsar, Punjab. His real name is Kapil Punj. He changed his surname from Punj to Sharma. His father Jitendra Kumar Punj was a head constable in Punjab Police. His father died of cancer in 2004.

He auditioned for The Great Indian Laughter Challenge show in Amritsar, although he was rejected at that time. Later he was selected in the Delhi auditions and ultimately won the show.

After winning the comedy reality show, Kapil Sharma got prize money of Rs 10 lakh. According to reports, he had spent all his money on his sister’s wedding.

Kapil Sharma also participated in the Comedy Circus show on Sony TV and became the winner in this too. He later launched his own show ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ on Colors TV in 2013.

Kapil has also hosted many shows like Chhote Miyan, Ustad Ka Ustad and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 6. After making a great impression on the small screen, Kapil made his Bollywood debut with the romantic-comedy ‘Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon’ directed by Abbas Mustan.

Do you know that Kapil Sharma came to Mumbai to become a singer, but nature had something else in mind and he became the king of comedy. However, many times Kapil is seen singing in his shows.

Kapil Sharma keeps his personal life quite private. Comedian was in a relationship with Ginni Chatrath and in the year 2018 he married her and today the couple are parents of a son and daughter.
