Karanj wood is a very useful thing
Its wood is also a very useful thing. Agricultural tools are made from it. Its wood is used in building houses. Also it is used as a fuel. Karanj is found in most parts of the country. It is an evergreen tree of the Fabaceae family. Found in such areas, where there is 500-2500 mm of rainfall in a year. The minimum temperature should be between 0 degree centigrade to 16 degree centigrade and the maximum temperature should be between 27 degree to 50 degree centigrade.
200 metric tonnes of Karanj oil is produced in India.
It is believed that India is the place of origin of Karanj. There is good growth of grass in the shade of this shady tree. That’s why it is considered suitable for preparing pasture. India produces 200 metric tons of Karanj oil annually. It is an excellent source of bio-diesel, which is found in all areas of Jharkhand. In view of its qualities, in recent years Karanj saplings have been planted on a large scale along the roads and highways.
