According to its official website, the Asia Content Awards and Global OTT Awards is an annual event to celebrate the achievements of outstanding content created for TV, OTT and online across Asia. It is organized by the Busan International Film Festival and the Korea Radio Promotion Association.
While ‘Scoop’ has garnered a nomination in the Best Asian TV Series, Tanna is vying for the Best Lead Actress trophy at the awards. The series is based on Jagriti Pathak (Tanna), a star crime reporter for a Mumbai newspaper, who comes into the limelight after she is accused of murdering her rival Jaydeb Sen.

The critically acclaimed Hindi-language series created by Hansal Mehta and Mrinmoyee Lagoo Vaikule premiered on Netflix in June. Series director Mehta congratulated the team for this ‘great honour’. Backed by Indian production banner Matchbox Shots, the show is inspired by Jigna Vora’s biographical book ‘Behind the Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison’.
In the Best Asian TV Series category, ‘Scoop’ will compete against ‘The Black Yard’ (Kazakhstan), ‘Not Others’ (South Korea), ‘Delete’ (Thailand) and ‘Taiwan Crime Stories’ (Taiwan). Apart from Tanna, other Best Lead Actress nominees are South Korean star Song Hye-kyo (“The Glory”), Hollywood star Zoe Saldana (“Special Ops: Lioness”), Singaporean star Rebecca Lim (“The Third Rail”), And Malaysian actor Emily.
The Asia Content Awards and Global OTT Awards will be held on October 8 at the BIFF Theatre, Busan Cinema Center during the 2023 Busan International Film Festival, which will run from October 4 to October 13. Attending the 28th edition of the upcoming film festival, which will see the premiere of titles like ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’, ‘Zoram’, ‘Agra’ and ‘Against The Tide’.
