KBC 15: Big B lost in his college days, shared stories of Kirori Mal’s hostel – Dainik Savera Times

New Delhi: Indian cinema’s iconic personality Amitabh Bachchan recalled his college days during ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 15’. He used to study in Kirori Mal College. Big B, who is the host of the quiz-based reality show, welcomed Avinash Bharti to the hot seat. He is a resident of Haiderganj, Uttar Pradesh.

During the game, the megastar told that the makers of the show have shot a video of Avinash. In the video, the contestant says: ‘I am a resident of Haiderganj, Uttar Pradesh. I currently live on rent in Delhi and am preparing for UPSC exam. My family has endured many hardships for me. I want to do something for them.

Avinash said in the video, ‘When I miss my parents, I talk to them on video call. I miss my mother’s food and my father’s scoldings. I am currently preparing for civil services. During conflict, man moves alone. The day I become successful, my parents will be with me. My friends and this world will be with me.

Amitabh was impressed by the determination of the contestant and congratulated him. The ‘Sholay’ actor said, ‘You are determined towards your goal in life and the emotions with which you express it are very rare. I want to congratulate you.’The video featured Kirori Mal College, from where Big B obtained his BSc degree.Reminiscing about his Kirori Mal College days, the ‘Brahmastra’ actor said, ‘There were many good things in the video. One of them was that I studied in this college.

The contestant said, ‘Sir, I am a junior in your college. I have also studied in Kirori Mal College of Delhi University. You spent three years in room number 27 sir, I have been living in the same room for the last three years.’ Big B further said, ‘That hostel room is lovely, isn’t it? It is in a corner. You can see the wall from that room. We used to cross that wall to watch movies.

He shared, ‘Yes, let me tell you that all the years I spent there proved to be useless. I did not achieve anything. I just lost. After that I completed B.Sc and it has not even the slightest use in whatever I am doing currently. I have forgotten everything.’ Then the contestant said: ‘Sir, it was certain that you would become a ‘Mahanayak’ in this decade.’ Amitabh said, ‘This title has been spread by journalists. I don’t believe in it.’
