MumbaiActress-politician Khushboo Sundar has given a befitting reply to trollers who accused her of converting religion to marry her husband and filmmaker Sundar C. He added that their marriage of 23 years has been rock solid.
Taking to Twitter, Khushboo said, “To those who question my marriage, or say I converted to marry my husband, I say get some sense and education. It is sad that they have never heard of the ‘Special Marriage Act’ that exists in our country.”
“I have neither converted nor have I been asked to do so. My marriage of 23 years, based on trust, respect, equality and love, is rock solid. So those who doubt, go to hell and correct yourself. You need it.
Khushboo, who started her career as a child artist in showbiz, married film actor, director and producer Sundar C. in 2000. She has since been using the married name Khushbu Sundar. They have two daughters Avantika and Anandita. She added husband’s name Sundar to her name after marriage.
The Special Marriage Act, 1954 is an Act of Parliament with provision for civil marriage for all Indian citizens both in the country and abroad, irrespective of religion or belief.
