The film’s director Farhad Samji first wanted to make the Tamil film Veeram with Akshay Kumar under the name of Bachchan Pandey. But later he released another Tamil film Jigarthanda Ki Kahani titled Bachchan Pandey, which flopped at the box office. The remake rights of both these films were with producer Sajid Nadiadwala. Later Farhad Samji approached Salman Khan with the script of Veeram. He liked the script so much that he had announced a film on it before Corona under the banner of his production house with the title Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali. However, due to the lockdown, the shooting of the film got delayed. Later the title of the film was changed to Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and it was to be released in December 2022. But then Salman postponed its release.
