Mumbai Acclaimed actor Kay Kay Menon wants his series ‘The Railway Men’ to go to the Oscars. He believes that this series would have made India proud on the global stage.
KK said, “I wish ‘The Railway Men’ could qualify as India’s entry for the Oscars. This series shows the world what we went through as a country on that fateful night and captures the spirit of selfless Indians.” It also shows those who risked their lives to save countless people from dying.
The 4-part mini-series is set during the 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy that shook the nation. It is directed by debutant director Shiv Rawail.
KK Menon said, “This series truly deserves to represent India on every global stage and define our solidarity in the face of insurmountable threat to people across the world. ‘The Railway Men’ is a show every Indian should be proud of.”
KK Menon believes that ‘The Railway Man’ is one of the best works of his career so far.
He said, “This is one of the best projects I have been a part of so far in my filmography. I am thrilled with the response that the series has already received globally. It deserves everyone’s love. This is our tribute to the immortal human spirit and it is also a tribute to all the unsung heroes of Bhopal whose sacrifice saved thousands of people who were unaware of how to fight the silent killer in the air.”
In the series R. Madhavan, Divyendu and Babil Khan are also included.
