Mumbai Nearly a decade later, comedy icon Jack Black returns as Po, the world’s most unlikely kung fu master, in the highly anticipated chapter of DreamWorks Animation’s beloved action-comedy franchise: Kung Fu Panda 4. The film is releasing across India on March 15.

Joining the new characters are Oscar® Winner Viola Davis as Chameleon, an evil and powerful sorceress, and Golden Globe Winner Awkwafina as Jane, a cunning and quick-witted thief .

The essence of this massive franchise required a director’s expertise deeply rooted in depth, to ensure its continued success. So, showcasing his talent and tireless experience, director Mike Mitchell has made an unprecedented contribution to the iconic franchise Shrek and the Trolls and all the previous Kung Fu Panda films. Mitchell considered presenting Kung Fu Panda 4 as a story that was different from all its previous films. Mitchell says, “I’ve been a part of Poe’s adventures every time and have watched him continue to grow. I was the executive producer of the third film, and I always wanted to direct it, but I couldn’t find the right story to tell. Wanted to wait. This story is completely different from the previous three stories, which made it a very exciting opportunity to direct.”

Mitchell’s goal was to reconnect and rediscover the charm that had captivated audiences through Poe in 2008. Additionally, they wanted to take the thrill and excitement of the franchise to new heights. Speaking about it, Mitchell says, “In any franchise, especially one of my favorites, my goal is to focus on what made the first film special. A DreamWorks Animation, Kung Fu Panda 4 is directed by Mike Mitchell, co-directed by Stephanie Ma Stine. Presented by Universal Pictures (Warner Bros. Discovery), the film is all set to release in India on March 15 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.
