Mumbai Actor Lokesh Batta, for the first time in his career, has appeared in Watcho Exclusives web series Oh My Wife! (Oh My Wife!) Played the role of a police officer. The show, which was recently launched on Watcho, features him as Ranbir, a police officer investigating a high profile murder case.
The actor revealed the reasons behind agreeing to the series, his preparation for the character and the response he received from people. Talking about the inspiration behind saying yes to ‘Oh My Wife!’, actor Lokesh Batta said, The story of the series itself was very impressive and I have to admit that my character was portrayed so beautifully. It was written so much that I felt like it was made just for me.
Plus, the way director Shaurya Singh presented it to me, I couldn’t stop myself from saying yes to it. My character is a courageous, strong and critically thinking person. Most importantly, he is a very active listener and this quality is very important for a policeman. All these qualities attracted me to the character and we shot everything very quickly in just one or two shots.
The talented actor revealed his preparation for the role, saying that it was not very challenging for him. He said, we all have seen, been around and interacted with policemen in movies and in real life. So, there was not much preparation required for me. I learned a lot of qualities of a cop and added my own touch to it so that we could bring the character to life. It was an interesting journey for me.
To be honest, it was not challenging because we have seen cops since childhood—the way they behave, handle situations and deal with difficulties—so I could naturally incorporate it in my performance. . The series, available on Watcho, is receiving immense praise from the audience for its story, performances and direction.
Talking about the appreciation he received from people, Lokesh said, I played the role of a cop for the first time on screen and it was really a unique experience for me. The response from my friends and Instagram family has been very positive and they are loving my character and I am overwhelmed with the response.
