Loksabha Election 2024: Former all-rounder of Indian cricket team Yusuf Pathan Trinamool Congress (TMC) from Baharampur constituency. Lok Sabha Elections Has given ticket. TMC announced the names of 42 candidates on Sunday, in which Pathan’s name was also there. The constituency from where Pathan is going to contest is considered a Congress stronghold. After Yusuf was given the ticket, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Choudhary said that if the party wanted to respect him then it should have sent him to the Rajya Sabha. Outsiders were nominated to the Rajya Sabha from Bengal. He said that this reveals the intentions of Mamata Banerjee. If Mamata Banerjee had good intentions then she would have discussed about bringing Yusuf Pathan from the (INDI) alliance.

But Congress decided to contest the elections alone.

Talking about Yusuf Pathan’s cricket career, he made his debut for India in T20 in 2007. His ODI debut was against Pakistan in 2008. Pathan has played 57 ODI matches for India, in which he has scored 810 runs. This includes two centuries and three half-centuries. He has also taken 33 wickets. In T20, Yusuf has scored 236 runs in 22 matches and taken 13 wickets.
