The occasion of consecration of Ram temple in Ayodhya on 22 January remains the most discussed topic in India at present. Actress Deepika Chikhlia, who plays Sita in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayana, is also keen to attend the historic consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and said, “The festival of Diwali is coming early this year.” The actress confirmed that she has been invited for the grand ceremony and is likely to be accompanied by Arun Govil, who played the role of Lord Ram in the classic television show that ran for 78 episodes on Doordarshan.
“Yes, we have been invited to Ayodhya on January 22,” Chikhalia said in an interview. This will be some magical and historic moment. he adds I have always said that I am very lucky that I could play the character of Sita ji in Ramayana. It has been a very divine experience to be a part of something as magical as Ramayana. I enjoyed my entire journey. I was one of the few actors who played the character of Sita but till today I remain Sita ji. So I think we’re all very lucky.

The temple is spread over 70 acres and will be opened to the public on January 22 after Prime Minister Narendra Modi performs the “Pran Pratishtha”, or consecration ceremony of the idol of Ram Lalla. Chikhlia said, “I want to tell everyone that January 22, 2024 is the new date of Diwali. Just as Diwali will be celebrated in Ayodhya, everyone should welcome Lord Ram and celebrate Diwali in their homes.”

Apart from Chikhalia and Govil, many film celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Anupam Kher, Akshay Kumar, Rajinikanth, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Chiranjeevi, Mohanlal, Dhanush, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgan, Sunny Deol, Prabhas, Yash and Are included. Rishabh Shetty has also been invited for the ceremony.
