She says in a special conversation with ETimes- I had done Kavach before this but it was only for two months because I got hurt and then I was not able to give time to that show. So I was not sure whether I would be able to do it or not.

Mehak further added, ‘As I belong to a Sikh family and was born and brought up in Norway, my Hindi was not good. I had never read or written Hindi. When I got confirmed for the role, I still had to rethink about it as I felt that I could not speak Hindi. I even hired a tutor on the sets who taught me how to speak Hindi properly.
Friends made fun of Mehak
Mehak further said, ‘When I accepted the offer of Naagin. My friends said that I am making a mistake. Naagin is a big show and has 5 seasons already. My friends started making fun of me. When I got confirmed, he said that I will not be able to do this. They said that you do not know how to speak Hindi and you will do Naagin. They never felt that I have the ability to work for one year. So when my work is appreciated, I am happy that I have done it with hard work.
