In an interview given to the media, Malaika told why she got married at a young age despite family pressure. “I didn’t grow up in a family where it was like, ‘Oh, you have to get married at this age.’ I was told to live my life the way I want. I was told to go out, enjoy life, meet new people and be in a relationship,” Malaika said. “Despite being so free, I don’t know. What thoughts came to mind, when I was 22-23 years old I decided to get married. No one pressured me to get married, but that’s what I wanted to do, because at that time I had the best option. Malaika admitted that after many years of marriage, she realized that this was not what she wanted in life.
