Actor and comedian Mike Batayeh passed away at the age of 52. He was best known for playing laundromat manager Dennis Markowski in Breaking Bad. The actor reportedly died on June 1 at his Michigan home after suffering a heart attack in his sleep. This was confirmed by his family. The family said, “It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that my sisters and I announce the passing of our dear brother.

Following the news of his death, his fellow comedian Steven Lawley mourned his death. He wrote on social media “Mike Batayeh was one of my first and best friends in comedy in LA and a great comedian. He definitely played Dennis in Breaking Bad. No matter how successful he was , He always took friends along.

There will be a tribute meeting on June 16 at 2 pm. at the Vermeulen-Sajewski Funeral Home in Plymouth, Michigan, according to Variety. Mike Batayeh appeared in three episodes of AMC’s Breaking Bad as Dennis Markowski, the manager of the Lavanderia Brillante laundromat, which also served as a meth lab for Walter White and Jesse Pinkman.

Mike Batayeh has appeared in shows such as It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Sleeper Cell, The Bernie Mac Show, Boy Meets World, and Everybody Loves Raymond during his acting career. He co-starred in Paul Weitz’s American Dreamz, Don’t Mess with the Zohan, Gass, and played Mike in the 2012 film Detroit Unleashed.

The actor headlined and performed at notable comedy clubs such as the Laugh Factory, Comedy Store, Improv and Icehouse in New York’s Gotham and Los Angeles.

He was one of the first American comedians to perform for Middle Eastern audiences. Mike Batayeh performed in Dubai, where he shot the Showtime Arabia special, as well as in Egypt, Lebanon, Nazareth and Jordan. Mike Batayeh was invited by the Jordanian royal family to appear at the Amman International Comedy Festival two years in a row.
