On the other hand, talking about Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s ‘Bawarchi’, it was made on Tapan Sinha’s 1966 Bengali language film ‘Galpo Holeo Satti’. It starred Rajesh Khanna and Jaya Bachchan in the lead roles.
In the film, Khanna plays the role of a talented domestic help who transforms a dysfunctional middle-class family. Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan played the lead roles in Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Mili, a film based on the budding romance between an alcoholic and his happy-go-lucky neighbour.

On remaking these three big films, Anushree Mehta and Abir Sengupta of Jaadugar Films said they wanted to give a fresh take on three old favourites. These are the films that we all grew up watching and these are the stories that the new generation should watch. He will try to do justice to these three films and give his 100%.
What did the makers say on making a remake
Sameer Raj Sippy said, “I think the time has come to take classic stories and bring them with a fresh and modern touch in today’s scenario. This is the intent behind re-showing ‘Bawarchi’, ‘Mili’ and ‘Koshish’.
