Akshay Kumar has no equal in showing real life heroes and stories related to them on the silver screen. This time he has brought on screen the story of late mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill, who carried out India’s first coal mine rescue mission in Raniganj, in which he saved the lives of 65 coal mine workers. The makers of this film deserve to be congratulated for bringing his heroic deeds on the silver screen, but it would not be wrong to say that this film has been made with very limited resources, which does not work effectively with this story of a real hero. Couldn’t do justice. It remains a film to be watched once.
The true story of the rescue mission of 65 laborers
The story of the film is of the period of 1989. When coal mines were an important part of the economic system, the lives of the people working in them were not important. They used to enter the coal mines with their lives in their hands, one day while blasting the walls of the mine to extract coal from the coal mines of Raniganj, a water gate breaks, due to which the mine starts filling with strong flowing water and there The lives of 65 working miners are in danger. The management thinks that all the workers would be dead by now, but Jaswant Singh Gill (Akshay Kumar) hopes to save everyone, he goes against the system and some corrupt people and carries out this rescue mission. This is his story. There are some people with Jaswant Singh Gill, who have faith in Gill. They are with him in this difficult time. Some people are against Gill, will they allow this mission to be completed. Will this mission be accomplished is the story ahead.
Advantages and disadvantages of the film
This is an important story, which salutes the human spirit, which is ready to live as well as die not only for its loved ones but also for others. Which is the biggest quality of this film. Set in the race against time, this film remains only in establishing the characters and situation in the first half. In the second half, the story picks up pace and the thrill increases. Talking about the shortcomings, the film focuses more on the struggle of Akshay Kumar’s character. The story pays less attention to the struggle of the workers to survive. The film has also not focused on the laborers and their families. This is strange. These qualities of the screenplay can be ignored, but not of VFX. The VFX of the film is very weak, due to which not a single visual effect of the rescue mission has been created. The scenes have been shot at different places and the background has different locations. This is clearly understandable. This emotional story has also become loud at many places.
Akshay Chit in familiar style
Talking about acting, Akshay has played his character in a very familiar style but in his look he has once again remained nineteen. His beard looks fake. After Akshay, the character who has gained importance on screen is Jamil Khan. He does justice to his character. Pawan Malhotra’s work is also good. A capable artist like Kumud Mishra has been shown simply as a chain smoker in the movie. This seems strange. There was nothing special for other artists including Ravi Kishan, Dibyendu.
