Movie Review: Adipurush – Adipurush Movie Review in Hindi Starring Prabhas Kriti Sanon Saif Ali Khan

Since childhood, we have been watching, listening and reading this great saga of the victory of justice over injustice by Raghav in Ramayana and Ramlilas. Om Raut, who received the National Award for ‘Tanhaji’, has no doubt brought this epic to life on the big screen on a grand scale for today’s generation, but he failed to understand that the Ramayana we have been used to seeing and hearing for decades Yes, a very strong image of him resides in our hearts. Story of ‘Adipurush’

The story begins on the lines of Maharishi Valmiki’s Ramayana, where the marriage of Rama and Sita in the backdrop through the song Ram Siya Ram, Kaikeyi demanding three vows from King Dasharatha, exile of Ram-Sita-Laxman, younger brother Incidents such as Bharat carrying the padukas of his elder brother have been shown. Raghav (Prabhas) along with his wife Janaki (Kriti Sanon) and Shesh (Sunny Singh) are in exile to fulfill their father’s promise. On the other hand, in Lanka, Ravana’s sister goes to brother Lankapati Ravana (Saif Ali Khan) with her severed nose and laments. She instigates her brother to abduct Janaki, the most beautiful woman in the universe, in revenge. Janaki sees a golden deer in the forest, which she longs for. To fulfill Janaki’s wish, Raghav runs after the golden deer, not knowing that it is just a trick of Ravana.

Shesh hears his brother Raghav’s cry for help. He sets out to help Raghav by instructing Janaki not to cross the Lakshman Rekha and here Ravana disguises as a hermit and takes Sita away on the pretext of taking alms. Just after that, the climax of the story is the killing of Lankesh by Raghav with the help of Sugriva and Hanuman. In the midst of this, incidents like Jatayu-Ravana’s war, Shabri’s ber, Bali-Sugriva’s Malla war, construction of Ramsetu, Hanuman bringing Sanjivani Booti, ​​Indrajit and Meghnad’s slaughter have also been included.

The first look of ‘Adipurush’ faced a lot of criticism and after that a lot of changes were made in it. But the basic things remained the same. There is no doubt that the film proves to be a visual treat in terms of VFX, but CJI’s flaws remain. The VFX and CGI work in 2D is not impressive. Whereas in 3D it is strong. The biggest problem comes in the screenplay and dialogues. In the dialogues written by Manoj Muntashir, where the characters of Raghav and Ravana speak rich Hindi like, ‘My life resides in Janaki and dignity is dearer to me than my life’. While on the other hand, Bajrang (Devdutt) and Indrajeet (Vatsal Seth) are seen speaking ‘Teri Baap Ki Jalegi’, ‘Bua Ka Bagicha Samjha Hai Kya?’ For example, by speaking dialogues, they become an object of ridicule.

To give it a modern look, director Om Raut has given Ravana’s Lanka a greyish castle look, which looks like a ‘Harry Potter’ or ‘Game of Thrones’ fort, in contrast to Ravana’s gleaming gold. The three-hour run time of the film starts to blossom when in the second half the story is confined to the VFX-adorned Ram-Ravana war. Although the story looks good with visual effects before the interval. The director has omitted many episodes of Ramayana like Ahilya, Meghnad Vadh. Bali and Sugriva have been given the pure form of monkeys, while Ravana’s look, costume and his weapons have been modernized a lot. Ravana is shown riding a vampire-like creature, his weapons reminiscent of ‘Game of Thrones’.

Sanchit-Ankit Balhara’s background score is strong, but Ajay-Atul’s music didn’t make the songs as amazing. Yes, ‘Jai Siyaram Rajaram’ and ‘Tu Hai Sheetal Dhara’ are good to listen to.

In terms of acting, Prabhas has played Raghav as a restrained and dignified Purushottam. Saif Ali Khan as Ravana suits a lot, but with the help of digital technique, his stature has been shown to be a bit huge. Kriti Sanon is perfect as Janki. Apart from looking good, she has given a strong performance, but she has not been able to get much screen space. Sunny Singh as Laxman does not show that speed, for which Laxman is known. Devdutt as Bajrang has done justice to his character. Vatsal Seth has got a lot of screen space in the role of Indrajit, which he has played beautifully. Sonal Chauhan appears in just two scenes in the role of Mandodari.
